I need to be in England sometime for this event. I just seems like a bunch of people getting together for endless merry-making!

May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii...and Tokyo? Apparently this video is from the dress rehearsals of the Lei Queen Contest in Japan. I don't understand why the Lei Queen Contest wasn't in Hawaii, but, oh well!

Unfortunately, there is no audio provided but it’s cool to see footage recorded for a May Day Parade from 1958.

Note to self: get traditional Polish costume and find a Polish male dancer (also in costume) who will lift me high in the air as as these dancers do.

If you watch PBS on Sunday nights, this host will be no stranger to you. Laurence Welk popularized "champagne music" and bubbles on his tv show (1951-1982) and brought music into the home. Oftentimes, he would bring on accordionist Myron  Floren  to wow the crowds as they danced across the stage or bobbed in the seats. Truly, this man has magic fingers!
